In the earlier years of my photography, the only option for shooting panoramic images was to use a wide angle lens, then crop to make an elongated composition. With the advent of digital photography, it's a simple process to shoot a series of adjacent images, usually overlapped by about 30%, then "stitching" them together in Photoshop. This panoramic image of a sunset from the Blue Ridge Parkway is comprised of five images stitched together.
