Most of my efforts to photograph into a stand of aspens fall short, simply because I'm usually approaching them from the downhill side and tilting my 35mm camera's lens upward causes the trees to "lean" inward at the top. Plus, it means I'm shooting into the often featureless sky. The view afforded here was from an elevated paved road, and that allowed me to shoot straight into the trees with no distortion and a dark background. The lens used was a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom. This image looks great printed 40x60 on canvas! |
