Behind a church camp on Hwy 215 several miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway lies a stretch of the North Fork French Broad River with several photogenic features, including Bird Rock Falls. This scene is actually a few yards downstream from the falls themselves, but this seemed to be the best vantage point from which to incorporate the huge picturesque bluff known as "Bird Rock" in the composition.
